Kristina from Duvemåla at Ribbingsnäs Säteri with the Stockholm Concert Orchestra conducted by Anders Eljas.
Kristina from Duvemåla is finally coming to Småland, when the concert version is staged at Ribbingsnäs Säteri’s outdoor theatre.
‘There is no other place in the world that can portray this masterpiece as well and as genuinely as we can.’ – Philip Wareborn, producer, Ribbingsnäs Säteri
In the Highlands, in the heart of Småland – where the roots bear stories of famine, poverty and the great emigration across the Atlantic in search of a better life in the promised land of America – this timeless work is given a unique and authentic setting. The natural stage will be the third stage at Ribbingsnäs, located behind the Concert Hall (Maskinhallen), directly adjacent to the building. The audience will be able to enjoy both the concert and the unique view of the forest park, which frames the performance area and enhances the authentic Småland feeling. With the rustling of the forest in the background and the historic location as a backdrop, the story of Kristina is given new life – a story that has touched, and continues to touch, generations.
The conductor and orchestrator of Kristina från Duvemåla, Anders Eljas, leads a full-scale symphony orchestra – the Stockholm Concert Orchestra and Kristine Kammarkör from Jönköping. Together, they offer a concert experience rarely, if ever, seen in Småland.
