Ersta Diakoni: 175 years!

Ersta Diakoni is celebrating its 175th anniversary and will mark the culmination of this anniversary year with a grand anniversary concert in the presence of Ersta Diakoni’s Highest Patron, Her Majesty Queen Silvia. A string of outstanding musicians will bring to life the history of Ersta Diakoni from 1851 to the present day.

Through music and storytelling, the concert will portray the people, ideas and events that have shaped Ersta Diakoni and left their mark on the development of Swedish healthcare and social care.

The deaconesses’ courage, compassion and pioneering spirit laid the foundations for the healthcare and social care we take for granted in Sweden today. We wish to celebrate and honour their legacy, as well as the progress that has followed.
